A word from JR

Where things stand

"Some loads you don't talk about. Some roads you don't take twice."

The crew is back and the yard is coming back to life. Same crew, new equipment, and a whole lot of finding out whether they still have it. Rebecca has me deep in rewrites, because apparently the words don't fix themselves after you take a shortcut. Who knew.

Colonel Merritt has another job. Two F-35 aircraft, Miramar to Volk Field. Four trucks. Two thousand loaded miles. Sounds simple. With Merritt, it never is.

Then the black SUVs start showing up in the mirrors, and folks start asking questions nobody outside the convoy should know to ask.

The road is quiet. For now.

"A deftly crafted novel by veteran truck driver J. R. Elrod, Frozen Freight: Iron Reach is a riveting and detailed story of the endurance, the loyalty, the skill, and the grit it takes to keep the wheels turning when everything freezes over. An unreservedly recommended pick."

Written by a working trucker

Nobody else could have written this book.

JR Elrod has spent thirty years behind the wheel of oversize loads across 48 states. He runs BAR Transportation LLC out of Mount Pleasant, Texas, and knows what a truck sounds like at 4am when the world is still asleep.

When Pops Mercer talks about permits, scale houses, and classified cargo in this book, it is accurate because the man who wrote it has lived the real version of that job.
